The Airside Bus with Next Generation Batteries and Charging

Operators are looking for Eco-friendly solutions at a rapid pace. It’s evident that diesel airport buses will soon be replaced by modernized electric models. Airports and ground handlers can rest assured that contemporary electric buses are equipped for long-term use, cost savings, and all-around convenience. Let’s delve into the specifications of the batteries used by DINOBUS, their energy regeneration capabilities, and their fast charging abilities.

Next Generation Battery Technology

DINOBUS airside bus models offer the power of LFP batteries, manufactured by CATL, the globally trusted supplier of battery technology. LFP batteries are widely recognized for providing exceptionally strong durability, safety, and cost-effectiveness over the course of their lifetime.

Durability: The LFP batteries used in our vehicles are designed to last at least a minimum of 8 years (or 600,000 kilometers), which is backed by a robust warranty. Its long-term reliability minimizes the need for frequent replacements to keep up with daily operations.

Safety: Safety is a key aspect of choosing the right battery for your passenger handling vehicles. LFP batteries are non-flammable and built with high quality assurance, providing the highest level of safety for both travelers and drivers.

Eco-Friendliness: In addition to their overall durability and safety, DINOBUS batteries are environmentally friendly. They can be fully recycled at the end of their long lifespan, ensuring that airports are making a sustainable choice when converting to an all-electric airside bus fleet.

We can provide a wide variety of battery capacity solutions, so that partners can tailor their fleet specifically to their operational requirements. The standard capacity of 210 kWh is set. However, clients can opt for 140 kWh, with options all the way up to 281 kWh. Additionally, each vehicle comes with an upgraded battery temperature monitoring system. The system uses safe liquid nitrogen cooling to intelligently regulate the battery’s temperature, ensuring a safe and optimal performance during its longevity.

High Performance Engines

The DinoRex and DinoVeloci are powered by new engines from DANA, a company well known for its quality propulsion motors and technology. These engines have been proven to excel in the electric bus industry, because of the several advantages it offers:

Reliability: These engines are known for their failure-free operation and ease of use, making them a reliable choice for public transportation.

Power and Torque: The high power and torque of these engines ensure excellent vehicle dynamics and usability in all conditions, from urban streets to hilly terrains.

Fast Charging and Energy Regeneration

In addition to the battery and engine, the fleet requires minimal waiting to charge up to full capacity. DINOBUS can guarantee convenient and fast charging times. Our vehicles can quickly get back to the terminal after charging. On average, it takes less than two hours for a bus with a depleted battery to reach 100%. The DinoRex and DinoVeloci models use the plug-in charging method.

The key to an efficient electric airside bus is its powerful optimization capabilities. DINOBUS’s energy regeneration system enables our buses to recover up to 30% of its electricity and power when using effective and proper driving precautions. In that way, our buses can maximize their battery’s optimization consistently between round trips. The buses use an intelligent recovery control system that activates when the driver is braking or driving downhill.

Our bus models are designed and built to easily modernize ground handling fleets. Equipped with LFP batteries, high-performance engines, and smart energy recovery systems, electric buses offer an emission-free, safe, and effective solution for airport ground handlers. DINOBUS is ready to lead the way towards a greener future for passenger transportation.
